Public transport (OV)

Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam West is convenient located next to public transportation hub, 
JAN VAN GALENSTRAAT. Tram/metro/nightbus within 200 meter walking. 
Metro/tram stop Jan van Galenstraat: Tram 13, Metro 50, Bus 64 and Nightbus 752

  • Tram 13. For to- and from the centre of town, Dam square, Anna Frank house, Central station.
  • Bus 64. To nearby train stations, Leylaan and Sloterdijk
  • Metro 50. To nearby train stations, Leylaan and Sloterdijk. Also for the RAI and Amsterdam Arena, Ziggodome, Heineken Music Hall and Euro lines bus terminal Duivendrecht.
  • Nightbus 752. For to- and from the centre of town after midnight.

The next metrostop is a five minute walk, DE VLUGHTLAAN

How to get the to B&B Amsterdam West by public transport

From Central Station or Dam square (city centre) take tram 13, direction Geuzenveld and exit at metro/tramstop 'Jan van Galenstraat'. Enter the dead end street on the right-hand side of the apartment building. This is the 'Johan Broedeletstraat: around the corner of this apartment building you'll see some houses. You have arrived.
  
The fastest way to get from Schiphol airport to the B&B: take any train in the direction of Amsterdam with a stop at 'station Lelylaan', 7 minutes: or ‘station Sloterdijk’, 8 minutes. Schiphol train station is located directly beneath the main arrival hall. From either 'station Lelylaan' or ‘station Sloterdijk’- take metro 50  to metro/tram stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' and exit, 3 minutes. Train and metro run frequently. Buy your GVB mulitiple day transport card at Airprot, Lelylaan or Sloterdijk.
  
Train tickets are sold at the NS service counter or NS ticket vending machines located in the main arrival hall. You'll need a disposable OV-chipcard (eenmalige OV chipkaart) "Schiphol-Amsterdam", costs 4 euro. This ticket will get you from Schiphol airport to any of the stations in the Amsterdam area.
  
Or take bus 69 from the airport direction 'Station Sloterdijk'. You will save some cash on train tickets and can directly use the GVB multiple day transport card. Exit at bus stop 'Slotermeerlaan' and from there it's 2 stops by Tram 13 in direction of 'Central Station', exit 'Jan van Galenstraat'. The bus takes a little longer as by train and metro, but you see some more of the country side.
  
Arriving in Amsterdam at an Eurolines bus terminal; from Duivendrecht take metro 50, direction Isolatorweg or Sloterdijk metro 50, direction Gein to 'Jan van Galenstraat'.
  
When you arrive at metro/tram stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' by metro, walk down from the platform and cross the street/tramline. The dead end street (for cars) on the right-hand side of the apartment building is the 'Johan Broedeletstraat. Around the corner from this apartment building you'll see some houses. You have arrived.
  
The tram/metro stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' is less then 200 m from Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam West. This metro/tram stop is also used to get to the centre by tram 13 (15 min) and is a stop on the nighttime bus to and from the center.

Where to buy your GVB multiple day transport card?

Tickets for 1-2 days are sold on the tram and 1-4 day tickets at vending machine at the nearby metro/tram stops.

At the GVB ticketshop at 'station Lelylaan' (8.00-18.00) you can buy GVB multiple day tickets for 1-7 days. At ‘station Sloterdijk’ and 'Schiphol airport' at the GWK shop for 1-3 day cards. At the ticket vending machines at both train/metro stations you can buy 1-4 day GVB cards.

 

Arriving at Amsterdam Central station you can buy the GBV cards (1-7 days) at the GVB shop on the main square in front of the station. An other good option is the IAmsterdam city card, a multiple day public transport and musea/attraction card. The IAmsterdam card is available at the Tourist information (VVV shop) next door to GVB ticksetshop. If you want to have GVB multiple day cards or IAmsterdam card ready to use on arrival let us know, 1 euro upcharge.

Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam is close to highway (A10) exit S105. Free parking is possible if coming by car.
