+  We had a great experience! Good bed, good wi-fi, everything always so clean! The owners are awesome, always helpful and nice. We had some delicious breakfasts! It’s not in the city center, but with a metro station just around the corner. I totally recommend it!

Family trip

+  It is a nice, clean accommodation, good view over the canal. Quiet location, easy to park your car. Tram and metro about one minute walk. Tasty breakfast. Host was really helpful and gave us good tips where to go, where to eat and do some shopping. I can recommend it for sure

- Nothing I would not like. Just maybe for some people far from centre....but it means no horrible noise.

Good value

+ Very cosy and nice place. Not far from the center and the airport, you may take a train or metro to get there. Plus very friendly hosts, a cat and some ducks with ducklings in the neighborhood. And did I mention the breakfast? It was delicious! Highly recommended place to stay in Amsterdam!

+ One of my favorite places to stay ever. First of all, the owners were fantastic. They have 2 rooms and a bathroom set up as a B&B in the ground floor of their home. We arrived around 8, and were ushered up into their part of the house, where our host went over a map of the city, making great suggestions about options of things to do, explaining how to make best use of the public transport (there was a tram stop and metro station within an easy 5 minute walk). The rooms could be let out separately, my friend and I each booked one, so it was just the two of us in the B&B area. The set up is nice for sharing: there is a sink in each bedroom, as well as in the shower room, and there is a separate toilet. There is a fridge, coffee maker and kettle in a little kitchenette in the shared area. The rooms themselves are very comfortable, and RIGHT BESIDE A CANAL! I could hardly drag myself away... 100% plan to go back.

- Nothing.

Canalside B&B, with charming hosts!

+ The warm welcome from Ralph and Kitty, and their advice on what to do and how to get there was really appreciated. Kitty's breakfasts were excellent - it was just a pity we had to leave so.much appetising food uneaten! Our room was also really nice, looking straight out over a canal and its ducks.

- I didn't realise it was so far out of town, or in an area without restaurants. The tram and metro are very close, fortunately, but it is a 30-minute ride to Amsterdam Central. And I'm surprised that no one in previous reviews mentioned that there's nowhere to eat in the area, apart from a kebab takeaway. That's not a problem once you know about it - there are a few restos 10 mins away on the tramline between Mercator and Marco Polo - but we were caught unprepared on our first night.

Breakfasts were excellent

+ Rhalf and Kitty were the best hosts anyone can ask for. Rhalf gave us an detailed guide from the local's eyes to Amsterdam when we first arrived which was amazing and very much helpful. And as the weather was unstable when we were staying, they also provided us tips on what to do. The rooms were very clean, the facilities comprehensive, and they tidy the room for you every day. The breakfast is also worth noting as it is not only sumptuous but also that they change what they provide every day so one can never get bored. I enjoyed the breakfast very very much. In general, Rhalf and Kitty are very professional in greeting guests yet their hospitality makes you feel like you're at home.

- It is a twenty minute ride from the central station, but it isn't much of an inconvenience. May have to share breakfast table with other guests. (which may be a plus, depending on your personality)

The best hosts anyone can ask for

+ Rhalf and Kitty were amazing - when we first arrived, Rhalf gave us a very detailed overview of a ton of things to do in AMS, along with a map marking the spots. The room was amazing and sparkling clean, with a beautiful view of the canal. The place is super close to tram, making it very easy to get around the city. The breakfast itself was a delicious traditional Dutch breakfast, with more food than you can eat. Rhalf and Kitty are the best hosts ever - you're missing out if you don't stay here.

- Nothing - the stay was perfect.

Superb

Positive Experiences: We are back home..sadly had to leave after a 10 days relaxing stay. The B&B Amsterdam West is a real gem! If you look for an authentic dutch home to spend your vacation don't search any further. Great value for money, in a calm location in Amsterdam West, close to Sloterplas lake, 2 minutes to metro and tram station. By tram you are in 20 minutes to Centraal Station and by metro there are 2 stops to Sloterdijk train station. So the access is perfect for visiting Amsterdam and also other nearby towns. We were by train to Delft, Utrecht and Giethoorn. A small supermarket is at 5 minutes by foot. The rooms are at the ground floor overlooking the canal. You can relax having a drink and watching the boats passing from the backyard or even from your bed. There is a very cute duck family that we enjoyed to feed in the morning.
The rooms and also the shared bathroom are spotless clean. The bed is very comfortable, there is a sink in the room, a cupboard with all necessary tableware and plates, a small table, 2 chairs. The rooms are designed in an original way with authentic dutch furniture but also with a touch which speaks about the owners passion: the bikes. The wifi works perfect. A fridge and a coffee machine are on the hall.
At the first level there is the living/breakfast room. About breakfast there is only one word to be said: fabulous! We are still dreaming off..Besides different ham, cheese, fruits, coffee, juice, tea, our host Kitty spoiled us every morning with her delicious creations: eggs cooked in different ways, cookies, small pancakes, shakes, fruits salads...During the breakfast you have the opportunity to socialize with the other guests and also to find out all you may be interested in about Amsterdam and Holland things to do from the charming hosts Kitty and Rhalf. To know them was for us the main achievement of our vacation. Their are so special people.
And not forget to rent a bike from Rhalf and make at least a tour around the Sloterplas lake in a fresh, quiet and sunny morning - you will recharge your batteries.
Next year we will be back for sure. Kitty and Rhalf we miss you a lot...Thank you for everything!

Charming, Friendly, Authentic, Home atmosphere - Kindest host ever!

Positive Experiences: Ralph was the nicest. He sat us down when we arrived and went through all the different places to visit. He went through the accommodation with us, how to lock the doors...little things that you wouldn’t think mattered, but mattered. Breakfast was good with a delicious cup of cappuccino. Very nice stay, wish we had more time in Amsterdam.
