Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam West, a perfect location for Amsterdam City visit or business trip. Very close to public transport hub Jan van Galenstraat, with good connections by metro and train to and from Schiphol airport. With tram 13, the historic city center of Amsterdam is 15 minutes away. The nearby tram/metro stop is also a stop on the night service bus line from the center for those who enjoy the Amsterdam nightlife or miss the last tram.

 

If you are traveling by bicycle, don't worry. You can park your bike in our special bike storage. The Amsterdam city center is 15 minutes by bicycle. Bicycle rental is available nearby, at BikeShop West, just two tram stops or a short walk.

 

B&B Amsterdam West can easily be reached by car, just a few hundred meters from the highway A10 exit S105. Free parking. Business travelers: WTC Zuid-As and RAI Amsterdam can easily be reached by metro. The OLVG West hospital is 500m from the B&B.

  • Tram 13. For to- and from the center of town, Dam square, Anna Frank house, Central station.
  • Metro 50. To nearby train stations, Leylaan and Sloterdijk. Also for the RAI and Amsterdam Arena, Ziggodome, Heineken Music Hall and Euro lines bus terminal Duivendrecht.
  • Metro 51 For to- and from the center of town, Central Station.
  • Nightbus N282. For to- and from the center of town after midnight.

The next metrostop is a five minute walk, DE VLUGHTLAAN.

How to get the to B&B Amsterdam West by public transport


🚆 Arriving by train for Paris or Brussels by Thalys, Berlin or London you will end up at Central Station. From Central Station take tram 13, direction Geuzenveld and exit at metro/tramstop 'Jan van Galenstraat'. (20 min) Cross the street on the side you exited for Tram 13 and turn left for 30m. Enter the dead end street on the right-hand side of the apartment building. This is the 'Johan Broedeletstraat: around the corner of this apartment building you'll see some houses. You have arrived.
  
✈️ The fastest way to get from Schiphol airport to the B&B: take any train in the direction of Amsterdam with a stop at 'station Lelylaan', 7 minutes: or ‘station Sloterdijk’, 8 minutes. Schiphol train station is located directly beneath the main arrival hall. From either 'station Lelylaan' or ‘station Sloterdijk’- take metro 50  to metro/tram stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' and exit, 3 minutes. Train and metro run frequently. Buy your GVB multiple day transport card at on arrival at the Airport, or train station Lelylaan or Sloterdijk. Or use the GVB app (see below) to buy tickets online and use your phone to check in and out of the public transport.
  
Train tickets are sold at the NS service counter or NS ticket vending machines located in the main arrival hall. You'll need a disposable OV-chip card (eenmalige OV chipkaart) "Schiphol-Amsterdam", costs 4,30 euro. This ticket will get you from Schiphol airport to any of the stations in the Amsterdam area. Tickets are also sold in combination with GVB multiple day transport card at the AKO book stand in the main arrival hall.
  
Or take bus 369 from the airport direction 'Station Sloterdijk'. You will save some cash on train tickets and can directly use the GVB multiple day transport card. Exit at bus stop 'Slotermeerlaan' and from there it's 2 stops by Tram 13 in direction of 'Central Station', exit 'Jan van Galenstraat'. The bus takes a little longer as by train and metro, but you see some more of the country side.
  
🚌 Arriving in Amsterdam at an Eurolines bus terminal; from Duivendrecht take metro 50, direction Isolatorweg.
When arriving at busterminal Sloterdijk take metro 50/51, direction Gein/Central Station 2 stops to 'Jan van Galenstraat'.
  
When you arrive at metro/tram stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' by metro, walk down from the platform and cross the street/tramline. Turn left for 30 m and enter the dead end street (for cars) on the right-hand side of the apartment building into the Johan Broedeletstraat. Around the corner from this apartment building you'll see some houses. You have arrived.
  
The tram/metro stop 'Jan van Galenstraat' is less then 200 m from Bed and Breakfast Amsterdam West. This metro/tram stop is also used to get to the center by tram 13 (15 min) and is a stop on the nighttime bus to and from the center.

Best deal in Amsterdam


The GVB day or multiple day ticket provides you with unlimited GVB travel throughout Amsterdam - day and night - on the bus, tram, and metro, for the number of hours that best suits your plans. For example, the day ticket is valid for 24 hours starting at the first check in.

 

Note: These tickets are only valid in GVB metros, trams, and buses. Thus, not valid in the regional buses of Connexxion and EBS or on the train.

Where to buy your GVB multiple day transport card?


Best option is the GVB app, Gappie. Download the App for Android or Apple, and buy your ticket before arrival. Activate your travel ticket when needed.

Tickets for 1-4 day are also sold at vending machine at the nearby metro/tram stop 'Jan van Galenstraat'. On your way from the Airport, where you can already buy the GVB multiple transport card in combination with train ticket, you can also buy your GVB multiple day tickets at ‘Station Sloterdijk’ or 'Lelylaan'. Arriving at Amsterdam Central station you can buy the GBV cards (1-7 days) at the GVB shop on the main square in front of the station.  Or as mentioned above download the GVB App and buy ticket before arrival or when needed.

 

An other good option is the IAmsterdam city card, a multiple day public transport and musea/attraction card. But we advice this only when staying 3 or more days and when planning to visit multiple musea and and attractions.
